The symbols above would have meant nothing to me a a year or so ago –  that’s how swiftly the Web develops.  Now they reverberate with special meaning, because they represent one of the best means by which my blog can grow. But on one condition:  I need your help.

First, what do they mean?

Delicious
Delicious (yes, pronounced “delicious”) is a social bookmarking web service offering an online home for your bookmarks. That makes them accessible to you from any computer anywhere. If you like it, click to bookmark it.

RSS
See my links on RSS in the left column. This button function is exactly the same in function as the one at the top of the page.

Technorati
is a search engine exclusively for blogs. When you like a blog, click to record it as one of your Technorati “favorites.” How many times a blog has been favored determines its Technorati “authority,” the rough equivalent of Google’s pagerank.

StumbleUpon
is similar to Digg but more personalized. Instead of posting pages by rank, it rates them then displays them users with similar interest. If you like it, Stumble it.

Digg
is a content-sharing website that posts articles and stories by popularity. Stories are voted up or down by other Digg users. If you like it, Digg it – i.e. click the logo and submit it.

Bottom line: If you like a post, click one or more of these icons. Because each links to a service that can extend the reach of “Write a Better Novel,” this is your chance to help give my site a bit more visibility every time you click.  Thanks, guys.
