My piano teacher used the term "practiced spontaneity" for those moments when you turn a phrase onstage in a moment of seemingly sudden inspiration and delight. No need for the audience to know that you drilled that spontaneous moment into your fingers over and over and over, LOL. Art does not happen by accident.
