NaNoWriMo…We Hardly Knew Ye!

by Bill

Boy, the thirty days of NaNoWriMo went by quickly, didn’t they. For me, as the days dwindled it felt more and more like I was just getting going, and that there was infinitely more to write before the story would be anywhere close to told.

I confess, in order to make my 50,000 words, I had to shift into "relentless word-production mode." That got it done. But what if it hadn’t, and I had finished at 35,000 or 40,000…?

I wouldn’t have had a problem with that in the least. I was going to tell you why
in the video I intended to post on Saturday, then Monday, but screw-ups in the video process (my "growing" web video experience) held me back.

In years past I was vaguely aware of NaNoWriMo, but not interested,
not then. To those who feel that way, I apologize for an excessive
number of NaNoWriMo related posts this past month. Think of it this
way: if you were on a trip around the moon, you would post about it. As
of this week, I’m back–and I’ve brought in a good chunk of a novel to write
on. That’s exciting
