From my perspective every analysis I've read of 'The Scream' is way off base. It isn't even pre-expressional or symbolistic art. If you look closely in the background you'll see that his favorite surf spot has been invaded by tourists, hence the terrified look on his face. He' simply a bummed local surfer (Notice that he's wearing a black wetsuit). Or maybe he forgot his tokens to cross the bridge. Again, horrified expression on his face. The moral of this story. Stop being so full of yourselves.

Hi Justin, I'm not exactly sure what part of my article your comment applies to. However, it's really up to authors to inform themselves about the key clauses contained in a publishing contract and ongoing rights management. Of course there may be some publishers out there to make a quick dime at an author's expense, but authors sign their own contracts - hence the onus is on the individual to understand their rights before making their mark.

When one begins writing, multiple companys are out to take your writing and pray upon your work. Anything from you pay them - to we'll give you a dollar and publish. They keep your work long after end-of-contract using the work to feed their own pocket. Some even translate your work into another language keeping all the proceeds. Each provide excusses for any action. Whatever happened to publiser integraty? It may have happened to "This Way, They Come." Look closely at feedback sites.
