Lise, he's revising, so there will be stretches where the work is light. Also, he told me that, though he's on track to finish, he hasn't always been able to keep up with 1000/day pace. But that's okay--a goal paces you. If the pace is too fast, you edge off on it a little.

Kemari, you're fine. Keep doing what you're doing.

Lyn, I don't think any of our peculiar tribe would have a problem with stubbornness, arrogance, etc. Personally, I'm thankful for motivation in whatever form I can get it.

Hi, Bill,

I think for me I'm overmotivated...in the sense of addiction. I show up to the page because I'd rather not deal with other stuff. How's that for unhealthy behavior? Now, some good does result from my socially-accepted workaholic behavior...on occasion. I also think my internal motivation is a huge stubbornness, a belief that my words need to be seen. Arrogance? Intuition? I'll let it motivate for now.

Oh if I could be so bold. I might have to take baby steps to reach that level of self-motivation, but I have found that just committing to someone other than myself keeps me motivated to write. I think the Victory Party is a great idea though. I'm finding that if I actually meet up with people (face to face) and promise to have something written, it holds me even more accountable.

This was a great post! Maybe one day I'll have the resources (and the guts) to be as public as your friend.
